A Recent History of C-GEKF

Below is a recent picture of C-GEKF, a 1965 vintage Piper Cherokee 180 Model C. It is powered by a Lycoming O-360-A3A engine, has a gross weight of 2400 lbs and an empty weight of 1400 lbs. It cruises at 120kts. Since my purchase of this aircraft in August 1993, numerous upgrades have been performed.

The aircraft was imported into Canada in the mid 1975 and has had many owners since then. It appears that little in the way of significant upgrades have been done until I purchased the aircraft in 1993.

It also appears that many of the previous owners did not fly the aircraft much, in some years as few as 10 hours were logged. Since I acquired the aircraft it has flown about 80-90 hours a year including trips from its base Ft McMurray Alberta (CYMM) to Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

When the aircraft was purchased, its avionics were antiquated and only suited for limited IFR training. Since that time, all avionics have been replaced which has allowed me to obtain an Instrument Rating (1997).
